"...thanks again for the wonderful opportunity to experience NIA. I really enoyed the workout. Unlike other workouts, this provided a platform to adjust the workout to my physical needs and abilities with the three different levels you demonstrated as we went through each steps. Furthermore, I was able to listen to what my body was telling me through each movement- what a new experience! " |

"I loved the purpose behind the moves, the joining of martial arts and dance to create a lovely, flowing motion, and yet, worked me until my legs were trembling! The care you took to instruct us to do whatever we could, to push a bit beyond our capabilities to become more flexible but not to hurt ourselves, was encouraging and supportive. I will be in this class every week and know that I will have so much more strength and energy because of NIA." |

"I was happy my body was moving yesterday! My lower back felt wonderful- I needed that! I could have used a little more instruction on the stretching part as I didn't have a clear view of you. Other than that, it was great and I look forward to the next class!"

"The fact that NIA is modeled to give a strengthening aerobic workout is fantastic! That we can make noise while we do it is wonderful!! That it is modeled to avoid further injury and to accommodate pre-existing post-injury residual is THE BEST!!!
You can't imagine how many programs I've started with, patiently explaining I have post-injury knees and ankles, but that I'm happy to modify and do anything that doesn't injure them further. Still, the trainers insist on squats, bicycling, hamstring curls -- in short, every single thing that stresses and further injures my knees! "Just try it," they say. They presume that I don't know the difference between further injury and sore muscles -- "no pain, no gain." I'm willing to do the work for sore muscles. I'm not willing to go through more joint injury and another $500 orthopedics bill which pushes me one step closer to surgery.
But this program is marvelous!! It assumes I have a brain and lets me use it while working my body without pain! I can tell that I got a workout last night, but I AM NOT HURT. ANYWHERE. This is a program I can stick with and enjoy! How great is that?!?!?"
